Repeat Prescriptionsmulticolour_pills

If you are on continuous or regularly prescribed medication a ‘repeat request slip’ will be attached to your prescription.  This slip must be completed for each new repeat request to ensure that the correct medication is prescribed.

Requests can be made in a number of ways:

  • In person - hand your slip in at reception.
  • By post  -  send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want it posted back to you.
  • Online - You can now order your prescription online.  Please ask the receptionist if you would like to register for this service.
  • By email - please send your request, along with confirmation of address and date of birth, to patience.lane@nhs.net.

Practice Repeat Prescription Ordering Policy

The practice no longer accepts repeat prescription requests from pharmacies on behalf of patients. We are aware that the online pharmacy, ‘Pharmacy 2U’ is currently mailing Wakefield residents advising of the services that they can provide. Please note that our policy also applies to Pharmacy 2U and therefore if you choose to nominate Pharmacy 2U to dispense your medicines, you will still need to order your own prescription from the surgery.

All pharmacies are still able to collect your repeat prescription from the surgery once it has been processed and deliver your medicines to you if they offer these services.

Please be assured that the practice has not provided Pharmacy 2U with your details and that we are not affiliated to them in any way.

Electronic Prescription Service

If you use the same pharmacy all the time, near home or work, you may be interested in using our Electronic Prescription Service.  You will still need to order your prescription in the usual way but, rather than picking it up in person from the surgery, it can now be sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy.  If you would like more information please ask a member of the practice team or discuss it with your pharmacy.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

48_hoursPlease allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account. Any amendments may take longer.
