When We Are Closed

This practice is now offering extended access to medical support.

GPs in Wakefield have come together in a new scheme to enable patients across the district to have access to GP support after normal practice hours called “GP Care Wakefield”.

The scheme enables patients to have access to medical advice and, if required, access to a Wakefield GP appointment through our normal GP practice telephone number between

  • 18:30 and 22:00hrs Monday to Friday
  • 09:00 and 15:00hrs Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays

Patients who use the service will be provided with medical advice from a dedicated nursing team, who can then refer them to a GP appointment that day, if required, at one of two sites across the district.

So remember, if you required support in the above times – please call our practice number

When We Are Closed

If you need medical help fast outside these times (but it’s not a 999 emergency) please call 111.

111 will connect you to a team of fully trained call advisers who are supported by experienced nurses. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms and either give you the healthcare advice you need or will direct you to the most appropriate service. If they think you need an ambulance they will arrange one for you.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Stroke, chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
